Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Former two time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the novice remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
